WHAT IS THE ANTONIAN MISSION
STATEMENT?
As its mission, Antonian is committed to providing a
co-educational college preparatory education, integrated with the
teaching and sharing of the Catholic faith in partnership with
parents and students. |
WHO IS THE ANTONIAN STUDENT
BODY?
Students at Antonian come from various socioeconomic levels, from
single as well as two-parent households and from two predominantly
racial backgrounds – white and Hispanic. The average family
income is approximately $45,000.00, with twenty five percent (25%)
earning below $25,000.00. One hundred twenty three (123) students
are receiving financial assistance this year. |
THE ANTONIAN
ENROLLMENT
Enrollment at Antonian has been growing over the last seven years,
which is dramatically different from the prior ten years when
enrollment had been as low as one hundred twenty five (125)
students. In 1989 the school became co-educational which led to
its resurgence and an increase in enrollment. Over the last three
years enrollment has increased by one hundred fifty (150) students
to the 2002-2003 level of six hundred fifteen (615). At present
enrollment is at six hundred sixty four students (664).

CONTINUING BLUE RIBBON
EXCELLENCE
In 1999, Antonian earned Blue Ribbon Status.
Since then the school has been at the forefront
of assisting other schools to apply for Blue
Ribbon status and to improve its program
through continuous improvement and is seen
as the benchmark school for them to attain.
Antonian has hosted the District Academic
Meet for the last two years and has promoted
service projects and stewardship with its sister
schools – St. Mary's by the Riverwalk and St.
Gerard's High School.
COLLEGE ADMISSION
AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Antonian enjoys one of the finest reputations as the Premier
Catholic School in the San Antonio. Its alumni enjoy a 100%
graduation rate and also enjoy a 98% college admissions
statistic. Over the last four years, the graduating classes have
been accepted by a variety of colleges and universities, including
many prominent schools such as Harvard, Yale, MIT, Boston
University, Notre Dame, Columbia, Rice, DePaul, Cornell, and the
like. Additionally, students have been blessed with the
acquisition of millions of dollars in scholarships. The 2002

over four million three hundred thousand dollars ($4,300.000.00)

Congratulations from out
entire department! It's an honor to be named a blue ribbon
school once, but twice!!! As you are once again recognized as a
Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, this time under the national
program of "No Child Left Behind", may your hearts swell with
pride for all you have achieved.
As a Catholic School,
you realize that all you do and all that you achieve is for the
greater honor and glory of God. You have certainly been
blessed and we know that you are also a blessing to this entire
Archdiocese. Thank you for setting your sights so high,
striving to achieve your goals and for being a role model for our
schools.
May you continue to
walk in the presence of the Lord Jesus giving praise to God for
all your outstanding achievement. Congratulations!
God bless you,

My
sincere congratulations to Principal Gilbert Saenz, the Antonian
Faculty and students for once again receiving the Blue Ribbon
Award from the United States Department of Education.
This program, according to the Secretary of Education, ensures
that every student learns, and no child is left behind. That
certainly keeps with the spirit and mission of Antonian College
Preparatory High School. Congratulations on a job well done!
For Antonian, the Blue Ribbon Award this time recognizes that the
school is in the top 10 percent on a nationally-normed test.
I thank principal Saenz for completing the application process,
and to the Council for American Private Education for recommending
this great school to the United States Department of Education.
May you continue to be blessed for all your good works!

Good Afternoon, it is a
tremendous honor for us as a School Community to be presented with
this very prestigious Blue Ribbon award of excellence.
Today as we stand in the presence of God we reflect on all of the
gifts given to us, and myriad factors that have made this moment
possible. In the minds of many the true impetus behind this great
distinction, are our very teachers. Day in and day out our
teachers strive to expand our horizons. Every single teacher
endeavors to instill in us a sense of hard work and dedication
that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. Our teachers
have dedicated their lives to us and because of their calming
presence and powerful influence we a re forever changed for the
better.
Teachers, this award of excellence is a tribute to you. This is
just one of many fruits of your labor. On behalf of the entire
student body I thank you. I thank you for your encouragement, your
dedication, and your never ending love for education and the many
students that you have helped to shape in so many ways.
Thank You.
Joshua Sandoval,
Student Body Vice President
