Parent-Student Handbook on the Web
For your convenience, the Parent-Student Handbook (with updated and corrected information) has been posted on the Antonian website.

Mass at Antonian

Unless otherwise stated, the Antonian student body will be celebrating mass every Wednesday beginning at 8:55 a.m. Parents are always welcome to join us! Our celebrant
priest is our Religious and Formation Leader: Father Mark Clarke. Other invited priests also
conduct mass for us from time to time.

MASS AND SPECIAL OCASSIONS SHOES

Dear Parents - Please ensure your son/daughter has ONLY the following approved shoes
to be used with the dress uniform for mass days or special occasions. No other shoes are allowed. If you need assistance or clarification, please contact the Dean of Students at
344-9267 - ext 109.

Shoes for boys are penny loafers in
black, dark brown, or cordovan (maroon).

*Since penny loafers vary in style and materials, the above pictures show
the style, look, and type of material required at ACP.

Shoes for girls are saddle shoes or penny loafers in
black, dark brown, or cordovan (maroon)

Cell phones

“The use of cell phones on campus is prohibited from 8:05 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. If a student needs to
              use the phone, he/she may use the phone on an emergency basis in the front school office. Cell
              phones shall be kept in the student’s locker during the day. If a student is found to be using or in
              possession of a cell phone in the classroom, her/his phone shall be confiscated and a fee of
             $50.00 shall be collected before its return. Upon the second offense, the phone shall not be
             returned.”

Lost and Found
There are too many items in the lost and found that remain unclaimed.

Students, you are asked to do the following:

1) Keep your belongings inside your locker--as much as possible.

2) If an item is too big to fit in your locker or you run out of space, please neatly place it, including your backpacks, below your lockers on the floor.

3) Do not hang jackets or any other items from your locker doors.

4) Ensure your items are kept safeguarded.

5) Report any missing items to the Dean of Students.

Items not claimed will be discarded or donated.

Matthew's Closet Club
To all students members of Matthew's Closet who want to visit Samm's Shelter today - go to Mr. Elizalde's Room 200 after school. We will leave school at 3:30 p.m. and return by 5:00 p.m.

ACP Chess Tournament!!

The Antonian Chess Club, in preparation for the upcoming tournament at Clark High School, will hold a brief meeting today after school in room 210. All member's are required to attend. Please be prompt!

Writing Club

There will be a Writing Club meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19th, in Room 305. Come on by to figure out who killed Professor Plum?

Girls' Basketball Team
The girls' basketball teams will play their 1st home game TODAY, against the #5 ranked team in the city, the Judson Lady Rockets. Game times are at 5:00 for freshman, at 6:00 for JV and Varsity plays at 8:00 p.m. Good luck ladies!

Boy's Soccer Team - Tryouts

Tryouts for football players interested in playing soccer will be held on Wednesday from 3:45 to 5:15 on the baseball field. Please see Coach Pais if you have any questions.

COUNSELING OFFICE

Baumberger Endowment Scholarship and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Scholarships are in the Counseling Office. Please go by to pick up information on these scholarships. The Baumberger Scholarship is financial need-based and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas is merit-based. Everyone is welcome to apply.

All Seniors interested in attending St. Mary's University, please sign up in the counseling office to meet with the Director of Admissions by Wednesday, November 19th.

TAPPS Art Competition

This year Art TAPPS District Contest is at Antonian! Let's show off our best art ever!
We need digitally created images, digital photography, hand processed photography,
and advertising art. See the art teacher, Ms. Moore, after 1st to after 4th period for
more information.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Students and teachers: Student Council and Mu Alpha Theta will be holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive. Each advisory will collect a specific item starting on Monday, 17 November. The winning advisory will receive a pizza party. Students, see your advisory teacher for details.

ACP CHEERLEADERS

Congratulations to our National Champion Cheerleading Team who competed this

weekend in two separate competitions and brought home many accolades. They received 1st place as well as the Highpoint Award at the Cheer Star Productions on Saturday, 15 November. They also received 2nd place on Sunday, 16 November at the competition held at Wagner High School. Good job ladies & GOOD LUCK on your next competition! Go Apaches!

The Antonian football team has earned a bid to the TAPPS Division I playoffs!!

The Apaches will host a home playoff game. The word came from TAPPS on Monday (Nov 10th) that Antonian, the District 2 third place team, will host the independent El Paso Cathedral TODAY, Friday, Nov. 14th at 7:00 p.m.

Ticket prices for this Friday's TAPPS Division I football playoff game will be available ONLY at the gate for $6.00 -- general admission and $4.00 -- students.

There will be no pre-sale tickets and athletic season passes will not be accepted for this game since this is a TAPPS'-sponsored event.

Cross Country Teams

All cross country athletes will need to turn in their uniform to Coach Lovell by next Wednesday, November 19th. All uniforms must be placed in a gallon size ziplock bag with the name of the athlete on the outside of the bag. Uniforms that are not turned in by the deadline will be assessed a late fee, so get them early.

Attention all Mu Alpha Theta Associates, there will be a meeting tomorrow, Thursday, November 13th in the Auditorium immediately after school. Please plan to attend.

Girls' Basketball Team
The girls' basketball teams opened up their season last night against the Johnson Jaguars.

The freshman team showed up intimidated from the start and lost in a 46 to 6 rout.

The JV team played well as a unit and won their game 49 to 31. Jordan Ruiz and Maureen Zuniga led the way, but it was a total team effort.

The Varsity team won their first season opener in 5 years by beating the Jaguars 49 to 30. Kathryn "Big O" Galindo led the way with 18 points. Liz Boyd had 9 points while Rachel Amberlang and Allison "The Machine" Michel each had 8 points.

Congratulations ladies on starting the season off on a positive note.

We are all proud of you. Go Apaches!!!

---A BIG Congratulations goes out to Liz Boyd.

She will be signing a scholarship letter today to play college basketball at St. Mary's University.

Game times are: 5:00 p.m. for Freshman; 6:30 p.m. for JV and 8:00 p.m. for Varsity.

Girls' Soccer Team
Hi Apaches! Here is an update from your girls' soccer team: JV and Varsity had an eye opening experience this weekend in Houston against St. Agnes. JV started off with a 5 to 0 loss and the Varsity team finished it off with a 9 to 0 loss. However, the next morning your Varsity girls got a little pay back with a 6 to 1 victory over Duschene and JV had a miraculous come back from behind with a score of 2 to 0 to end up winning the game with a 3 to 3.

Your varsity is now 2 to 1 and JV is 1 - 1 - 1 on the season.

Next game is this Friday, 14 November at St. Mary's Hall
