Bishop Zurek Accepts Gift from Student Body
A few months ago, Mrs. Gayle Turner, Antonian Geography teacher addressed the Student Body and challenged them to consider the plight of Honduran children who were being killed by gangs for having Tattoos. The custom has been for Gangs, on each 18th of the Month, to randomly shoot 18 young people who have tattoos. The Church of Honduras is working with organizations to remove tattoos from children's arms. They need money to purchase gauze and other sterile material to assist this process. Bishop Zurek commended the Antonian students and told them that they were true examples of what the Gospel called them to be - people who help those who are imprisoned. In this case, not in prison made of mortar but the prison of their circumstance and society.
