Dear Dr. Saenz,

You should be very proud of our cross-country students. The discipline and determination of these athletes is incredible. The complete giving of oneself for their sport and their team as they cross the finish line is inspiring. Everyone of these athletes gave 100% and should be so proud of themselves. As a spectator it was a great event to witness and those parents and fans that were there would agree. Also, their sportsmanship is remarkable. You know they worked so hard to repeat their title as State champs but it just wasn't their best day and the other two schools did run a great race. Yet their disappointment did not keep them from enjoying the moment because they gave it all they had.

We as parents and the students are so fortunate to have a coach who is passionate about running and also cares about each of his athletes. These kids love and respect their coach and he continues to instill and demand good work ethics while at the same time promoting a positive environment. He brings out the best in each of these runners helping them to become the best that they can be. Whether your the number one runner or the at end of the line if you have done your best and given your all this is all he asks of each athlete. Coach Lovell is a person who has made a difference in each one of these athletes both as runners and as people. We as a school can be proud of our cross-country team and the program he is building. We should continue to support and give recognition to our runners and Coach Lovell for their outstanding achievements in the past year as state champs and this year as runners up in state for the boys and third place for the girls. Quite an accomplishment!
